15 September (105lbs) Jimmy Barry w co 28 (finish) Casper Leon, Lamont, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Referee: George Siler. Contested in a picnic grove and billed for the 105lbs world title, Barry (104½) scored the first knockdown in the 15th and hammered Leon (104¾) for several more rounds before finishing him off in the 28th. The winner moved up in weight after this one. Interestingly, the Chicago Tribune reported that the men actually fought at 112lbs, but regardless of that it has always been recognised as a fight to settle the 105lbs championship.
