1895-03-04 (122lbs) Dave Wallace w co 11 (20) Goody York, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Made at 122lbs, Wallace (120) had York down twice in the second round from solid blows to the jaw, but the latter showed tremendous pluck when coming right back into the fight before being knocked out in the 11th. After claiming the English title, the following day Wallace challenged all England at the weight. Another man to claim the title was Arthur Callan (22 February 1896), but he appeared to be fighting at a higher weight.
