1895-05-30 (138lbs) Kid Lavigne w pts 20 Jack Everhardt, Seaside AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Billed for the American 138lbs title, Everhardt, who was claiming the 133 and 135lb American titles, was unable to stop Lavigne’s charge to the world title at all weights between 133 and 138lbs. Although neither man was floored it was Lavigne who did the lion’s share of the forcing and hard hitting during the contest and deservedly won the points decision.
