1895-10-14 (158lbs) Dan Creedon w pts 20 Frank Craig, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Recognised as being for the British version of the world 158lbs title, after a slow start it warmed up with Craig (157) rushing Creedon (156), which was not his normal style. Nonetheless, he floored Creedon with a right to the jaw in the sixth and almost had the latter over again in the seventh with similar punches before weakening himself and slipping down after missing his rival. Despite looking to be a beaten man in the eighth, and being brought to his knees in the ninth, Creedon came on strongly after the 12th when taking most of the succeeding rounds to run out a good winner.
Craig, who was not helped by the fact that he was cautioned on several occasions, reclaimed the title on Creedon leaving for America.
