1895-12-05 (126lbs) George Dixon drew 10 Frank Erne, New Manhattan AC, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Charles Sagel. Made at 126lbs, it involved both Dixon’s and Erne’s claims at the weight and the latter proved to be more than a match for Tom O’Rourke’s wonder. Erne gave a very clever performance, especially in the art of infighting, and with Dixon also in top gear it turned into a scientific contest of the highest order.
