1895-12-30 (134lbs) Jack Daly drew 37 (finish) Stanton Abbott, Young Mens’ AC, Washington DC, USA. With Daly introduced as the American 134lbs champion, despite his record not supporting the billing and Abbott called the English 132lbs titleholder which he was not, the fight proved nothing, especially with no weights given or stipulated. Until the 28th round the fight was spirited and even, but after Daly had tried unsuccessfully for a knockout during the next few sessions both men, tiring rapidly, settled for a draw and the referee eventually called a halt at the end of the 37th.
