1896-03-16 (142lbs) Joe Walcott w rtd 7 (20) Bright Eyes Collins, New Eureka Club, Queens, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Jimmy Carroll. Billed for the American coloured 142lbs titles, it was a hard fight up until the end of the fifth round, but then Walcott took over. Collins was down seven times in the sixth and after being dropped five more times in the seventh, the final punch being a crashing right to the jaw, his corner threw the towel in with just five seconds of the session remaining.
