1897-01-12 (122lbs) Solly Smith drew 25 Tommy White, Bohemian SC, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Frank Abrahall. Made at 122lbs, both men showed good form, Smith in attacking mode and White relying on good defence, which made for a good fight. Had White possessed any punching power of note he would surely have won and following the contest both men were laying claim to the American title at the weight.
