Billed for the world 120lbs title, the fight was fairly even until Dixon (118½) leapt at Murphy (120) with a left to the jaw followed by a right to the body. Dropped heavily, despite Murphy desperately trying to get up, he was unable to do so and was counted out at 2.43 of the sixth.
