Billed for the world 120lbs title, the fight was fairly even until Dixon (118½) leapt at Murphy (120) with a left to the jaw followed by a right to the body. Dropped heavily, despite Murphy desperately trying to get up he was unable to do so, being counted out at 2.43 of the sixth.
