23 January (115lbs) Patsy Haley w pts 20 Austin Rice, Polo AC, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA. Made at 115lbs with both men inside, Haley won the decision after 20 rounds of a tough fight in which he just about had the better of the hard-working Rice. Haley, who was the more skilful of the pair and frequently had to call on his added experience, claimed the American title on winning.
