1897-03-29 (126lbs) Dave Wallace w pts 20 Morgan Crowther, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Made at 126lbs, almost from the very beginning Wallace (125) had his left in Crowther’s face, continuing in this vein throughout the contest. Crowther (124½), who had no answer to these attacks, frequently ignored the punches coming his way when boring in with blows to head and body. In the last three rounds when the points against him could only be overcome by a knockout, the game and stubborn Crowther continued to come forward, taking even more jabs to the face for his pains.

On winning Wallace claimed the English 126lbs title, but was yet another who failed to capitalise.
