1897-04-30 (132lbs) Kid Lavigne w rtd 12 (25) Eddie Connolly, Broadway AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Dick Roche. Billed for the American 132lbs title with both men inside the weight, Connolly was well in the fight for six rounds as his scientific boxing showed up to advantage. Following that, Lavigne got on top and after receiving a severe drubbing in the 11th, Connolly, who had been floored five times in that session, was retired by his corner when the bell rang for the 12th to begin.
