22 November (102lbs) Harry McDermott w co 17 (20) Ernie Brady, Standard Theatre, Gateshead, England. Referee: J. T. Hulls. Billed for the English 102lbs title, the taller Brady (102) was well ahead coming into the 11th round, but from thereon McDermott (101) took over. Fought at a terrific pace without a knockdown in sight, the 17th session saw McDermott suddenly pull a cracking right to the jaw out of the bag that sent Brady crashing down to be counted out.
