1898-03-31 (130lbs) George Dixon drew 20 Tommy White, Empire AC, Syracuse, New York, USA. Referee: Mr Hughes. Billed for the American and world 130lbs title, both men finished almost as fresh as when they started, having put on an extremely skilful display. Dixon attacked throughout, while White concentrated on blocking and picking his rival off with the left. There were no knockdowns.
