1898-07-25 (104lbs) Harry Brodigan w disq 8 (20) Billy Dunn, Excelsior School of Arms, Sheffield, England. Referee: G. N. Willis. Made at 104lbs, Brodigan (104) had opened up a good lead by the eighth round, having put Dunn (102) down in the third with a right to the jaw. With Dunn’s chances of winning receeding as the sessions went by, he was disqualified in the eighth after throwing Brodigan over his head whilst in a clinch.

Although Brodigan claimed the English title at the weight on winning, he would not be considered worthy enough after being beaten by Joe Williams at 102lbs in January 1899.
