1898-10-03 (142lbs) Mysterious Billy Smith w co 20 (20) Jim Judge, American SC, Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA. Referee: Sam Austin. According to the Scranton Times, this was a billed 142lbs title fight and both men were inside the prescribed weight at the 3pm weigh-in. In showing a marked superiority throughout, Smith punished Judge severely before eventually finding the finishing blow, a terrific right hook that sent the latter hurtling to the floor to be counted out.
