1898-11-11 (120/122lbs) George Dixon w disq 10 (25) Dave Sullivan, Lenox AC, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Jimmy Colville. After a fairly even contest, in the tenth round Sullivan ducked into an uppercut that put him down. Somehow getting up despite being extremely groggy, Sullivan was disqualified when his brother jumped into the ring.

By his victory at 122lbs, Dixon (119) reclaimed the world title at that weight and once again laid claim to the 120lbs version as well.
