1899-02-20 (104lbs) Dave Job w disq 14 (20) Jack Guyon, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. This was yet another fight given English title credence, this time at 104lbs, despite it being contested over two-minute rounds. Having shown a useful left jab in the early stages to get ahead, Job (102) was badly hurt in the sixth round after Guyon (104) had concentrated on the body. However, Job came back well and from the eighth onwards continually outscored Guyon, who began to resort to low blows in his frustration. Disregarding the referee, Guyon continued to hit low and following a final warning he was turfed out of the ring.
Job continued to claim the title after receiving forfeit from Harry McDermott (who was overweight for their contest on 11 February 1901) before moving on.
