Line 1: Line 1:
1899-03-06 (110lbs) [[Jack Walker]] w rsc 6 (20) [[Dave Morbin]], NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Although billed for the 110lbs English title Morbin was unable to make the weight and was forced to pay forfeit, the fight going on at catchweights. After feeling each other out for the opening three rounds, Walker began to find some rhythm and in the fourth he dropped Morbin with blows to head and body, which he repeated in the fifth. Coming out for the sixth looking used up, Morbin was immediately under attack and after Walker had forced him to the floor twice more the referee stopped the contest in the Paddington man’s favour.
