1899-03-06 (110lbs) Jack Walker w rsc 6 (20) Dave Morbin, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: Bernard J. Angle. Although billed for the 110lbs English title, after Morbin was unable to make the weight he was forced to pay forfeit before the fight went on at catchweights. Having felt each other out for the opening three rounds Walker began to find some rhythm, and in the fourth he dropped Morbin with blows to head and body, which he repeated in the fifth. Coming out for the sixth looking used up, when Morbin was sent to the floor twice more the referee stopped the contest in the Paddington man’s favour.

On 19 July, it was reported in the Mirror of Life that Andrew Tokell should be considered as the English 110lbs champion, but he made more of an impact at a higher weight a little later.
