1899-03-24 (138lbs) Eddie Connolly drew 25 Kid McPartland, Broadway AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Johnny White. With both men claiming the American 138lbs title, the weight this was contested at, the result proved nothing. The decision appeared to be a popular one with Connolly forcing the fight much of the way while McPartland used the left hand well and administered the harder punches, despite holding back on occasion.
