1899-05-09 (138lbs) Eddie Connolly w co 4 (20) George Kerwan, Olympic AC, Buffalo, New York, USA. Made at 138lbs, Connolly successfully defended his American title claim at the weight when beating Kerwin in a fight that was fast and furious while it lasted. Kerwin kept running into left and right swings to the jaw and, after getting punched out of the ring in the fourth round, he climbed back in only to be knocked out by a left to the jaw.
