1899-09-11 (128lbs) Loudon Campbell w rsc 20 (20) Larry Burns, Coney Island AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Made at 128lbs, although Campbell claimed the American title at the weight on winning he had soon moved on to 130lbs. The fight itself saw Campbell repeatedly working with the left on Burns’ damaged nose, an injury which occurred in the fifth round, and in the 20th the latter was dropped by a left hook. On getting up, when Burns was put through the ropes after being hit by a heavy right swing the fight was stopped.
