1899-10-27 (110lbs) Steve Flanagan w pts 25 Casper Leon, West End Coliseum, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Made at 110lbs, Flanagan was constantly the aggressor, and in the last six rounds had Leon in a bad way on several occasions. It seemed that Leon would surely fall, but he gamely stuck at it to make it to the final bell.

Also reported as a 20-round contest, by his victory Flanagan was generally accepted as the champion of the weight class in America.
