1899-11-02 (122lbs) George Dixon w pts 25 Will Curley, Broadway AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Johnny White. Billed for the world 122lbs title and a contest between two very clever fighters, Curley was dropped in the 12th round from a body blow followed by a left hook to the head and was saved by the bell. Still groggy in the next session he soon came round, but by the 15th his right eye was closing. At the end of the 23rd, Curley vomited after taking another body blow but he managed to make it through to the final bell.
