1899-11-06 (130lbs) [[Loudon Campbell]] w rsc 6 (10) [[Danny McBride]], Millvale Opera House, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Referee: George England. Made at catchweights, with both men to scale between 126 and 130lbs, the contest started at a fast pace with both men mixing it from the bell. Dropped to his knees in the first round and finishing the second groggy, McBride found that he could not keep Campbell away and towards the end of the fourth he was down again from a body shot. Matters just got worse for McBride in the fifth when Campbell had him down eight times in quick succession and he finished the session in a groggy state with the police official trying to get the referee to stop the fight. With the excited crowd forcing the official’s hand, McBride came out for the sixth and after he was dropped three times from punches to the jaw the referee stopped the fight in favour of Campbell, who successfully defended his 130lbs title claim.
