1899-11-28 (124lbs) Kid Broad w pts 25 Dave Sullivan, Broadway AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Made at 124lbs, Sullivan went through with the contest despite being unwell on the night and although he made a good start he was soon being pegged back. Put down heavily in the 15th, Sullivan began to be swamped by left jabs and right crosses in the latter rounds as Broad made sure of victory. Broad, who was actually born in England, took over Sullivan’s claim at the weight on winning.
