1899-12-18 (132lbs) Spike Sullivan w co 6 (25) Jim Popp, Hawthorne AC, Buffalo, New York, USA. Made at 132lbs, Sullivan successfully defended his claim at the weight when opposing Popp in what turned out to be a rough and ready affair. Twice Sullivan was thrown to the floor in the fifth round, but in the sixth he caught up with Popp with a two-fisted attack to the head before knocking his rival out with a heavy blow under the heart.
