1900-02-26 (128lbs) Tommy Hogan w co 8 (15) Bill Chester, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Billed for the world 128lbs title, right from the opening bell the American found Chester easy to hit with straight lefts, although by the third the latter was beginning to score heavily to the body. For several rounds it was give and take but at 1.20 of the eighth it was all over for Chester after he had been counted out. The punches that did the damage were solid body blows that were followed by a terrific right-left to the jaw.
