1900-03-09 (122lbs) Terry McGovern w co 3 (25) Oscar Gardner, Broadway AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: Charlie White. Billed for the American (world) 122lbs title, Gardner was knocked out by a left-right-left combination to the jaw in the 19th second of round three. The fight had begun sensationally with McGovern being floored by a long left in the first before coming back like a madman to drop Gardner five times in the second.
