Line 1: Line 1:
1900-03-21 (134lbs) [[Tom Ireland]] w co 11 (20) [[Harry Greenfield]], New Goodwin Club, Shoreditch, London, England. Referee: M. Worthington. In a match made at 134lbs, despite a lack of title billing this was a defence of Ireland’s English title claim at the weight. Ireland started the better of the pair and had a big lead by the tenth, every round being a repetition of the preceding one as he made all the running while Greenfield was happy to counter off the back foot. In the tenth session Ireland really opened up to have Greenfield on his knees at the call of time and in the 11th the latter was knocked down a further three times before being counted out on the fourth occasion.
