1900-05-07 (128lbs) Ted Marlow w rsc 3 (15) Jack Wood, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: George Dunning. Although Wood (127¾) had extra height over Marlow (127¾), it counted for little as both laid into each other with the latter having much success in working the body during the opening two sessions. Marlow really got busy in the third, dropping his rival with a left to the jaw, and following another hot rally after Wood had made it to his feet he decked him for the second time. Up again, Wood had nowhere to go and after being forced around the ring a left to the ribs and a right to the point had him over for the third time, whereupon the referee stopped the fight. Having struggled to get down to 128lbs there appears to be no more fights at the weight for Marlow.
