1900-05-28 (124lbs) Ben Jordan w co 4 (15) Tommy Hogan, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Billed for the English version of the 124lbs world title, nothing really happened in the opening session before Jordan (123½) got to work on the American’s body in the second, eventually sending him to his knees. Although Hogan (124) came back well in the third, in the fourth he was forced violently against the ropes prior to going down and being counted out. The Mirror of Life reported it to be a very doubtful and unsatisfactory finish.
On 22 September 1902, it was reported that Hogan had died suddenly after contracting typhoid fever.
