1901-03-18 (100lbs) Tippler Grey w co 4 (15) Mike Small, Gymnastic Club, Stalybridge, England. Billed for the English 100lbs title, Small was the cleverer man up to the fourth round but was already showing signs of tiring. In that session, with Grey on the march, he finally got to Small with a strong right cross that sent him down to be counted out.

Although this was Grey’s 27th win in 30 bouts he failed to gain any recognition.
