1901-06-07 (130lbs) Art Simms w co 10 (20) Jack Hamilton, South End AC, Akron, Ohio, USA. Referee: Ed McKean. With both men inside 128lbs, Simms’ American 130lbs title claim was at stake in this one and he was soon into his stride before dropping Hamilton three times in the tenth and knocking his man out later in the round. The winner was then challenged by Gus Gardner.
