1901-08-23 (133lbs) Joe Gans drew 20 Steve Crosby, Music Hall, Louisville, Ohio, USA. Billed for the coloured 133lbs title, the champion boxed carefully as Crosby rushed him during the opening ten rounds. Eventually, Gans began to open up, but with Crosby resorting to hugging and clinching he was unable to find a winning punch and had to settle for the draw.
