25 September (102lbs) Harry Slough w pts 15 Jack Orton, Mafeking Gym, Leicester, England. Referee: Charlie Pearce. Billed for the English 102lbs title and contested over two-minute rounds, while it was not generally seen as a battle of endurance it was certainly taken seriously by the contestants. Even up to the sixth round, Slough looked to make his move and working well with both hands he went to the front in determined fashion, fighting Orton almost to a standstill. After slowing down for a round or so, Slough came again right through to the finish, where he was returned the winner by a big points margin in what was generally seen as one of the best all-action contests put on at the Mafeking up to that time.
