1902-01-30 (158lbs) Tommy Ryan w co 7 (10) George Green, Armory Hall, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. If Green, participating in what would be his last contest, ever took his 158lbs title claim seriously and nobody else appeared to do so, this result put the record straight. Angry that he had been disqualified in their last encounter, Ryan came out firing and soon had Green down from a left to the jaw after knocking him over the ropes with a hard right to the body. Having dropped Green in the second and fourth rounds, Ryan was now biding his time and in the seventh he sent the San Franciscan crashing to the boards to be counted out on the 2.20 mark following a heavy right to the jaw.
