13 March (115lbs) Johnny Reagan drew 15 Tommy Feltz, West End Coliseum, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Referee: Dave Nelson. Made at 115lbs with Reagan’s American title claim at the weight at risk, there was too much clinching early on but once the boys had got going it was a rattling good scrap. The St Louis Daily Globe-Democrat reported that if the rules had allowed just clean blows Reagan would have won easily, but as they took on board roughing up then Feltz came into his own. The sixth saw Reagan start to work really effectively, although after the tenth matters evened up more as he tired. In the 14th, realising he had some ground to make up Feltz took the fight to Reagan and had the latter very shaky with blows to head and body. There was nothing much going on in the 15th as both men swung wildly, but by then Feltz had done enough to warrant a share of the decision.
