1902-03-24 (165lbs) Kid Carter w co 1 (6) Joe Choynski, American AC, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Referee: Malachy Hogan. Down three times and receiving a terrible battering, somehow the groggy Carter found the strength to land a mighty right to Choynski’s jaw, which saw the latter counted out inside the first three minutes. Made at 165lbs, despite it being a mere six rounder Carter took over Choynski’s 170lbs claim on the result. George Siler was also reported to have refereed this contest.
