1902-05-26 (158lbs) Tommy Ryan w rsc 4 (10) Jimmy Handler, Turner Hall, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. The Kansas City Star reported that with both men inside 158lbs, Handler would have had a strong claim to the title if he won. However, with Ryan sending in rights and lefts to his jaw and body in rapid succession as early as the second round, that statement appeared to go out of the window. It was all over in the fourth after Handler, who had been sent down three times, was rescued by the referee when a right to the jaw had him over for the fourth time.
