27 September (106lbs) Charlie Exall w disq 8 (10) Harry McDermott, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Referee: Sam Francis. With only two-minute rounds stipulated and no title billing, McDermott appeared well on top when he was badly cut by a head butt and left the ring feeling that Exall would be disqualified. Unfortunately for McDermott, the referee did not agree and was left with no other option than to disqualify him, thus leaving Exall’s English 106lbs title claim intact before the latter moved up in class shortly after.
