1902-10-09 (115lbs) Tommy Feltz w pts 20 Johnny Reagan, West End Coliseum, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Referee: Harry Sharpe. Although Reagan’s 115lbs claim came to an end at the hands of Feltz, the latter had already been beaten at the weight by Harry Forbes, who thus tightened his hold on the American title. This was the third match between the pair, being almost a duplicate of the previous two which were close. The St Louis Globe-Democrat reported that it could have gone either way, only this time the decision went to the tough little Savannah youngster. Again there were no real knockdowns, although Feltz, who was cut over the right eye in the ninth by a solid right, was thrown down by Reagan in the 15th. Regardless of that, the referee handed the decision to Feltz due to his aggression and the fact he had made most of the running.
