1902-11-05 (132lbs) Harry Mansfield w co 8 (15) Dave Wallace, Harry Thomas’ Normandy Street Booth, Cardiff, Wales. Billed for the English 132lbs title despite being contested over two¬-minute rounds, it was a fast encounter from the very start with Wallace holding Mansfield up for long periods and scoring well at times. Eventually, Mansfield began to get to Wallace and the latter was knocked out by a right hand to the stomach in the eighth. Although Mansfield continued to claim the English title on the result, he was not taken too seriously elsewhere and apart from Harry Greenfield continuing to challenge all England at the weight, other men such as Walter Thomas and Joe Fletcher (January 1905) threw their hats into the ring.
