1902-11-26 (135lbs) [[Jimmy Britt]] w co 7 (20) [[Frank Erne]], Yosemite Club, Mechanics’ Pavilion, San Francisco, California, USA. Made at 135lbs ringside, this was one of the fastest contests ever witnessed in the region, with Britt proving better in the clinches while Erne used the straight left to advantage. After a furious sixth round both men went back to their respective corners groggy, but it was Erne who was the worst affected and after taking a count of ‘seven’ from a punch to the solar plexus in the seventh he was knocked out by the same punch moments later.
