1903-02-02 (122lbs) Spike Robson w co 1 (15) George Phalin, Country Club, Leeds, England. Referee: Bob Gould. Billed for the English 122lbs title, the fight had hardly started when Robson got under the taller Phalin’s guard and ripped in a terrific blow to the ribs that knocked the latter out completely. So badly was Phalin hurt that he was unable to rise for several minutes and had to be carried to his corner. Following that, Robson beat George Dixon and Sam Johnson at the weight before finding that he could no longer make 122lbs.
