1903-05-29 (135lbs) Joe Gans w co 10 (20) Willie Fitzgerald, Mechanics’ Pavilion, San Francisco, California, USA. Referee: Ed Graney. Billed for world title at 135lbs, Gans clearly outboxed Fitzgerald in every round, dropping him in the fourth, seventh, eighth and tenth before putting him down and finishing him off with another right to the jaw later in the tenth. Having trouble with the weight, Gans came in at 139½lbs.
