1903-08-31 (116lbs) Harry Ware w disq 10 (15) Andrew Tokell, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Referee: Billy Bell. Billed for the English 116lbs title, in what was a very tough fight Tokell (114) made all of the early running and was still going strong in the seventh round despite the fact that he was not only been cut over the left eye but his right eye was three parts closed as well. Still, Tokell was not going to let that stop him and in the ninth he had Ware over twice and staggering around when the bell came to his rescue. Unfortunately for Tokell, after dropping Ware twice in the tenth he was disqualified for hitting the latter when he was still on the floor.

It was a bitter pill for Tokell to swallow and just one fight later, a 12-round points defeat at the hands of Owen Moran at Wonderland, Mile End, London on 7 March 1904 he retired.
