1903-11-16 (146lbs) Charlie Allum w co 9 (12) Charlie Knock, Wonderland, Mile End, London, England. Referee: Tom Craze. Reported as being for the English 144lbs title, give or take two pounds, despite being contested over two-minute rounds Allum (146) claimed the English 146lbs title following his win over Knock (144). Both men had given everything they had and in the opening four rounds they virtually fought each other all over the ring before Allum dropped his game rival with a right to the head in the fifth. Although Knock got himself up he was receiving severe punishment at the bell. By this time the pace had begun to tell and both men were groggy on occasion, but having had Knock at his mercy at the end of the eighth, Allum finished the job in the ninth when several body shots followed by rights to head and jaw put the Stratford man down for the full count.
